In the world of online file syncing two services have the most name recognition and it can be confusing which is the best fit for you.

How They Work:

SugarSync and Dropbox are designed specifically as cloud syncing solutions. Where storing your data, safely and secure is a part of the service, but not why you need them over other companies such as IDrive or Backblaze.

SugarSync and Dropbox work by backing up your files using their software, storing them on their servers, then distributing those files to each of your connected devices. Learn how cloud storage works

Comparison of Free Accounts:

Overview of SugarSync vs Dropbox:

Both companies are very similar in terms of design and function. The major difference is the folder syncing structure. With SugarSync you install their software, select the files and folders you want to sync/store, then you use the software to manage what is backed up. With Dropbox, any file or folder you want to sync/store has to be copied into a special "Dropbox" folder.

Key Differences - Both allow you to access your files through the website quickly and easily. Sharing is pretty similar with some minor differences between the two of them. They both support major operating systems, except SugarSync which does not support Linux (Dropbox does). SugarSync has Geo-Redundant storage (Dropbox does not). Dropbox has neither Live Chat or Phone Support (SugarSync does).
